Mozilla Firefox is one of the most preferred internet browsers
used all over the world. Right from its launch many years back, till
today, it has got itself to a great success and received appreciation
from many internet users all over.
Tricks To Increase Firefox Internet Speed
First of all type "about:config" in your address bar and press enter. A
settings page would open up. This is where we are going to alter some
settings to make firefox a lot more faster.
Reducing RAM used by Firefox for cache:
Find "browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer" in the about:config page and set it’s value to "0".
Increase page loading speed
Here we are going to enable pipelining. Piplelining will let Firefox
make more than one requests and thus increase loading speed.
Alter the entries as follows:
Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 10 (This means that it will make 10 requests at once.)
Then right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to “0“.
The integer we just added will order Firefox to act after 0 seconds
after receiving information from user or from the servers. In simple
language, it tells Firefox to act immediately after receiving any
information, thus increasing its speed.
Altering these simple settings can make Firefox a lot faster. I have tried it myself and got good results.
But the bottom line is also that it will make your internet browsing
faster and in a way, it will optimize your browser but the speed limit
still lies in the hands of your ISP. The bandwidth set by your ISP is
the limit of optimization.
But why not take out the most of that bandwidth? If you try out these
hacks, then do comment and share your experience with us. And share
these tricks with your friends too!
